Hey guys, my boss just gave me an aloe plant a week ago, and it's not looking good at all. It came to me not looking great but it's gotten worse. This is my first aloe, and I've read up on the basics, but I want somebody's opinion by looking at it. I really want to save it! It came to me with the roots wrapped in a wet paper towel, and I've watered it once, 1 day after potting it last week. It's more sideways now and you can see there's holes in it, which wasn't there a few days ago. I don't want to cut anything off until I know exactly what to do with somebody looking at it. Just nervous I'll kill it. Is there a chance of saving it??

I figured that’d be part of the issue, should I check for root rot? Or maybe just let it be and dry out..

What you might do is change the soil and get rid of the root rot because it does have it and while you are doing this snip off all of the dead roots.
