Dutch 6" cabbage 65 day crop.

I am considering growing 6" Dutch cabbage in spring from seeds in trays inside the house. I have good luck growing this cabbage in fall planting 25 seeds in a 30 ft row. Cabbage is good in freezing weather about 6 weeks until 10 degrees F.

Dutch Cabbage info says, plant spring seeds in the house allow them 2 weeks to grow plants with 2 leaves then transplant to the garden. I wonder if new plants can survive 3 weeks of freezing weather April 1st to April 20.? This is a 65 day crop 5 more weeks we will start having 100 degree F temperatures. Does cabbage get bitter in 100 deg f hot weather??? We start having serious hot weather & no rain June to Sept.

If cabbage does not get bitter in hot weather this idea might work. ?

Cabbage doesn't like Tennessee summer, it's not really the bitterness, but it won't grow well, you have at least till mid june

I usually look at the forecast start of April and place my bets as to the last frost date, last year it was in March

No harm in trying. Spring cabbage works pretty well if you can keep the butterflies at bay

ya springtime cabbage is tuff to keep just depends on weather temps ive tried last 2-3 springs and didnt do all that well i planted this yr in late september and still had to shade cloth over them to keepem til cooler temps
and as mentioned cabbage worms will tear them up but well wrth it
