Can't eat the Blackberries now as it's past Michaelmas and the Devil's pee'd on them

Wonderful photos on your walk in the sunshine.
I read that Rowan trees are associated with witches, whether to attract or repel, I don't remember. Since we don't have Rowan trees here in Texas, I am neither attracted nor repelled.
What are Devil's Turnips? Is it a tuber or leaf, edible or not? I've never heard of it, but would appreciate your explanation! We just have plain old turnips, which when cooked badly, might repel the Devil!

I associate Rowan with the most foul tasting wine I've ever made :D

Devil's turnip is also known as Bryony, it's got a huge root full of calcium oxalates, which would really mess your kidneys up. There's a similar plant in Australia known as the cheeky yam, the first nations over there process it to remove the oxalates before eating it.

I'm not a fan of normal turnips either :D

Just looked it up, apparently today is old Michaelmas day, they changed the calendar so it now falls on the 29th September, so I could have eaten them

They do actually undergo a change about now which makes them less palatable.

Not this year, bit of a faff to do in a caravan with only 1 camping gas ring. Miss my old cooker :(

I love getting to see a glimpse into everyone's local area - the rolling hills there are just lovely!!

And there seems to be so much growing there, too! I had no clue about the blackberries, either!

The valleys fill up with mists in the morning at this time of year, here's a pic I took previously, not sure if I posted it on here or not :)
