I also like to leave them out all year as we have such a diverse population migrating through.

I only had sparrows for a long time now. I thought I could get the bluebirds back or do what JB did to his but didnt get to it.
After seeing the bluebird it has me thinking of trying to evict the sparrows again.

I just put some jelly feeders out since I saw the orioles and they already found the jelly.

Would love to see Orioles here but hasn't happened in my lifetime.

Try putting out a jelly feeder. Google says they are in Texas.
My research says most all Oriole varieties are very rare here...except the Orchard Oriole. It is here now during its breeding season according to that research.

The female Orchard Oriole has some resemblance to the female goldfinch so it's possible I have missed them.

I was talking to my wife when something caught my eye. I saw one of the junior arborvita start swaying around. Then a hawk flew out with what must have been a Robin in his grasp and he flew to a tree limb at the neighbors house.

It was quite the sight.

Just read that the unfortunate passengers on the plague cruise liner were bird watchers who were taken on a bird watching trip where they encountered the disease by walking through a rat infested rubbish dump in Argentina. Do any of you bird watchers know why they would be taken there?
