Out and about this evening I got a shot of a bird that's rare to my area.

An Eider duck (Somateria Mollissima). The female's colouring is plain brown.

Also my favourite sea bird - an Oystercatcher ( Haematopus Ostralegus) on the run.

Excellent call @dirty hands . I suspect the other one is its female partner as they have been appearing together at that feeder for a few days.

My AI camera is confused and alternates between Iding this bird as the Carolina Chickadee vs the Black Capped Chickadee. My bird book says it is very difficult to tell them apart...

I've taken a look and can't identify the Chickadee but this might help...

My rain splattered AI camera is now saying that the partner of the Rose-breasted Grosbeak that I have been seeing is not the female of the species rather a northern waterthrush. By the looks of things, they aren't really partners either when it comes to sharing food...

More AI confusion...I'm feeling less and less confident in this AI Bird Id tool.

Today it seemed to alternate naming this bird Northern Waterthrush vs Northern Flicker.

A little research quickly eliminated the Northern flicker which is a woodpecker with some distinct markings not shown on this subject bird.

More research turned up the Louisiana Waterthrush a close version of the Northern Waterthrush but far more common in my area especially since we have numerous fairly large ponds which they love to use for shore lunch.

I am calling it the Louisiana Waterthrush and having a growing diminished view of AI bird recognition. However, the tool did help point research in a good direction.

The bluebird was checking it out but the sparrows beat him to it.
I wonder if I wait longer to put them up maybe I would get bluebirds in them.
