I know everybody is raving about diy sphagnum moss poles lately. Where I live they are expensive and sphagnum moss is more expensive than gold dust. similarly with coco choir . The thing is, we have hemp fabric (thin like a fleece blanket) going spare (from insulation renovations) . My question is, can I use this to make a grow pole - I've seen some for sale so I know this is yes but would roots be able to actually grow into it like they can with moss or coco or is it more just allowing for dampness near the roots?
