Did you harvest or taste anything fresh from your garden today?
It can be something big like a basket of tomatoes, or something small like a few herbs you added to dinner.

Share what you picked, how you used it, and any tips you have for growing it!

I can answer this question positively almost every day of the week especially in spring/summer.

Today, for example, having glazed carrots and fried mashed Yukon Gold potatoes (with giblet gravy) fresh from the garden to go with main course of Salmon.

I grow 100% of the potatoes the family eats from my garden and have for decades. Two crops annually harvest (> 200 pounds of new potatoes each crop) in May and late Nov. but "rob" some along the way. I raise Yukon Gold and Lasoda red both of which have their uses, store well, and produce generously.

I picked a handful of fresh basil today and added it to a simple pasta with olive oil and garlic. The aroma was incredible. My tip: keep basil in full sun, water consistently, and pinch the top leaves regularly — it grows bushier and stays flavorful much longer.

All my fruit has finished in the garden but all is in the freezer. Every day I get fruit out to have with breakfast, red, white and pink currants, blue berries, gooseberries.

I bought a growing pot of basil from the supermarket and pick off basil often. It gets a good soak now and then and a little water each day if dry (pot is light weight). The well known SM pots are date stamped, so I now know it's been there on the sunny windowsill since May!
