I've bought a garden gnome but the pots it is holding are smaller than expected.
Looking for a really shallow rooting, small perennial. I picked up some delosperma cheap from the local garden centre and they fit into the pots (just). Were talking 10cm depth, 10cm wide max.
Looking at other alpines I have, helianthemum, they grow quite a lot of space but the roots go too deep
Anyone got any recommendations for really shallow rooting plants ideally perennials?
It's quite late in the summer here in the UK now, so I didn't mind damaging the roots to squeeze the ones I bought in ... I'll consider buying bulbs or seeds in spring or something. If anyone can give me some ideas if the above aren't suitable ( I went by the small growing size) , ideally perennials.
Thanks
