Dahlia 'Mystery Day' (close-up above and full-plant view below) (from my garden, Aug. 4, 2014). The 'Mystery Day' (also known as a “Dinner Plate Dahlia”) has huge and magnificent, eye-catching, purplish-red 8-inch wide double-flowers edged in white growing on a 4-foot tall plant.

Wow, it's an absolutely gorgeous flower! I like everything about it, especially its shape.
