We have a Crossvine on the fence separating the back and front yards. It blooms heavily in the spring, and then off and on throughout the summer. It has another flush of heavy bloom before going dormant. It's out of its winter dormancy and blooming like mad:

One other advantage this vine has is that hummingbirds love it. I just hope it stays in bloom until the hummingbirds arrive!

Aw! So lovely and the colour is vibrant. If I had it, I would layer it until I have 10 plants. Just the sort of plants I want. Is it evergreen, too? What an asset!

Alp, it isn't evergreen but it does have a very short dormancy--about three months. It spreads by root, and I started with one plant 10 years ago, and now have three after giving a few to friends.
Daren, crossvine is bignonia capreolata. I tell you this so you'll get a true crossvine. Some nurseries confuse it with coral vine.
