Yesterday I was weeding for a yard customer. What caught my attention was several purple crocus flowers in bloom growing in the lawn. These were not the Autumn Crocus. These were the crocus flowers that are suppose to flower in the Spring.
If they are flowering now, will they still bloom in the Spring?

If one chooses the correct species of Crocus, one can have them in flower every month except perhaps July. There are a fair number which flower in Autumn. Saffron crocus especially is a very well known Autumn flowering species. The leaves do not normally grow until Spring.

One gentleman declared that he had seen crocus flowers in bloom a few weeks ago.
