Is this crabgrass? I sprayed it with crabgrass killer but didn’t help.
My neighbor doesn’t keep his yard up so the weed seeds blow into mine.
Thank you.

Yes that is crabgrass. The best way to get rid of it is to remove by the roots and discard in the trash manually. If you use a 3-prong hand cultivator, you can easily harvest the grass. The only herbicide that will knock it out is Roundup if the temperatures are above 90 degrees.

Roundup will foul everything up in your yard. If you use it, you have your rights. I respect that. But it means nothing will be safe to eat grown in your yard. The stuff will also get spread around by natural water/moisture flow.

You can try other methods.

I also like that you are asking questions. That's how you better yourself and improve life.

But I wish you luck.

Yes I agree with you, Round Up is poison, and I don't use it at all anymore. When I worked in the landscaping business, I was forced to use it and got a first-hand view of what it's capable of doing. That's why I recommend using a 3 prong hand cultivator and pulling the grass up by the roots by hand.

I remember working on a big job in Berkley for a Doctor. He had bunch of wild trumpet vines growing on his fence that separated his yard from a neighbor's yard. I sprayed the vines with a pump up-sprayer using roundup on the all the vines on the fence. When I returned the next week I saw that the neighbors sprinklers had sprayed the vines washing the roundup off the vines and onto the neighbors lawn. It ruined the neighbors lawn and I had to dig up the damage lawn and re-sod it with new grass. Cost me a lot of time and money.

22 weeks...that is how long Roundup stays in your soil.

"The World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer classified glyphosate as a "probable human carcinogen" in 2015, yet it remains the most widely used herbicide globally. A 2023 study published in the Journal of Environmental Sciences found that glyphosate residues persist in soil for up to 22 weeks after application, far longer than previously thought."

I've seen numerous posts on here that have recommended using straight, undiluted Round-up to kill unwanted vegetation and cringe every time it happens.
