Crabapple?

Just wondering if this is a crabapple.

Yes, I do believe they are crabapple. Or maybe just a flowering crab tree? I find they look similar but the difference is the flowering crab tree doesn't produce fruit, it's just really pretty to look at. My parents have a flowering crab tree in their yard, very nice. There are a couple of "apple" trees on the empty lot beside mine and I've never noticed if they're crabapples or not. I'll take a look this summer how it flowers.

There are both culinary and crab apples which have that lovely deep red flower colour. You would not really be able to tell until they fruit arrives.
