Banked up the first cow manure compost pile for 2026 today.
This pile will heat up quickly today and it will be turned a few times before being ready to apply to the section of the garden that produced/is producing the fall/winter crops and the spring onions and potatoes. The compost will be disced into the soil and then a summer cover crop likely Sunn Hemp will be planted to completely regenerate that soil.
The second cow manure compost pile is being built right now by the "girls". Hopefully it will be as large or larger than pile number 1 but that kind of depends on how much bad weather we have before spring.
