Here's another good film from "way back."

The theme song was a favourite of my mother's, I can play that too, but this guy's vocal version is far superior.

I have a CD of his and I uploaded the song to YouTube ten years ago.

It's had nearly 50,000 hits and been heard in over 130 countries, according to the analytics.
and it's had 285 hits in the last 28 days.

So many complimentary messages about him and the song.

There's other versions on YouTube, a favourite of mine is this.
Nearly seven million hits.

From where the board name came I've used since "the birth of message boards."

My favourite film noir, with the best actress in the film. Martha Vickers.

Insiders said her best scenes ended up on the cutting room floor as by the time the film was released, the main leads were married and there were more films starring them together, in the pipeline.

Second best actress in the film

Dorothy Malone

Third best.

Sonia Darrin

Worth a mention.

Joy Barlow.

Her best line isn't included in the clip as the scene in the video was cut short.

As Marlow leaves the cab, she hands him her card, with "If you can use me again, give me a call, day or night.
Night's better, I work during the day."

Ok, I do like Lauren Bacall, but she and Bogart were a "package," other films she was in aren't really memorable.

Digressing

Back in the day when I was managing big superstores, a new young and atractive blonde part time assistant we employed was a student at a local college.

She was introduced to me as Carmen.

I said, "That's an unusual name, would your parents by any chance be interested in "film noir?"

She looked really surprised and replied, "You're the only person who has ever made the connection!"
She was a "dead ringer." She even styled her hair in much the same way.
