Hi! Can somebody please tell me what kind of plant this is and proper care? Thanks in advance!

It is a Dieffenbachia. They like moderate to bright light and to stay moist but not soggy. In brighter light they will need more water, in lower light less water. They will grow in lower light situations but will get leggy.

Someone left this one on a window ledge in my building. I cleaned it up - threw out the old soil, rinsed the roots and cleaned off any old and soggy stuff on it. Im hoping it’ll grow more leaves and start to look more full over time. Thank you for your reply!

The clean-up and soil change were completely unnecessary, but give it the right conditions and it will be fine.
