I planted various plants all over my front yard, not all together but spaced out by several feet between each one and its neighbors. So there are large areas of woodchips (the whole yard is woodchips) which are currently growing wonderful weeds. So can I put something like Preen on the woodchips where the plants aren't? or will it soak in and spread around? maybe I should put a DMZ of so many inches or feet around each plant? you get my drift. Thanks!

Preen is a pre-emerge and therefore won't kill the weeds you currently see. You'll have to pull or RoundUp those weeds. I supposed Preen could stop new seeds from germinating in the near future.
