Calycanthus 'Aphrodite Sweetshrub' (close-up) (from my garden, July 10, 2016). The ‘Aphrodite Sweetshrub’ produces an abundance of large fragrant burgundy flowers beginning in spring and continuing throughout summer. Dark rich green glossy foliage acts as a wonderful foil for the purplish red flowers.
