Cactus bends at middle

I bought this in the summer of 2018 when it was as tall as the crimp in the middle (where the string is). It took off on the windowsill but is very weak at that narrow point and tips over. This is my only plant so I am very much a novice at this.

Nice size

I think it may have been still growing over the first winter and so grew a bit weak. They need a cool period with hardly any water over winter.

Hopefully it'll harden up this year.

It's getting worse. Can I cut it just below the bend?

Yes. Use a sterillised knife and dust the wound with sulphur.

If you let the top rest in a cool room for a month, it'll probably root if you then pot it into some gritty compost
