I live in a condo. There is a section in front of my condo where there are pavers. Like a small patio of pavers bricks. I wanted to remove a few paver bricks and put a butterfly bush there. There is paving sand of unknown type underneath.the pavers and some dirt.. underneath that appears to be clay. Not sure if I will be able to still what I want to do. If i am still able to plant the butterfly bush in there how can I do it successfully? If not what type of pot can I put it in and how large should the pot be so that the bush may survive through the winter.

I reckon it will be fine, I have seen them growing out of the mortar of a chimney where the pointing had gone and from gutters where there is next to no soil. British Rail spends several million pounds each year clearing them from waste ground beside rail tracks that is mostly stones, these things grow. It is sociable to dead head the flowers, the seeds are wind distributed and get everywhere, the root systems destroy masonry and such.
