Hi,
I established a lawn using buffalo grass plugs 10 years ago using plugs from a Melbourne nursery. Sadly that nursery has since closed down.
I'm now in a new house where the lawn requires to be re-done. I have searched the internet but can't find anywhere that I can buy buffalo grass plugs.
Does anyone know where I can buy some? I am based in Melbourne. I prefer the plugs to be buffalo grass. I am not keen on kikuyu or couch.

Liz

Hi,
Thanks for your replies but I don't think those companies sell plugs.
Plugs are a cost-effective option to grow a lawn if it is not needed in a hurry. Prepare the soil and plant the plugs at 300mm spacing and I will have a lawn in 6 months time.
If I can't get any plugs, I will consider buying a few sq. m. of carpet turf and try to grow the plugs myself. I just thought someone may know of a Sunday market or a backyard hobby nursery where I can buy the plugs.

What about weeping grass or wallaby? I understand they come as seed. Zoysia is usually sold in mats or rolls.

Thanks for your suggestion. I have already landscaped the rest of the garden and after checking out pictures of weeping grass and wallaby, I don't think they are right for my garden.

Why not buy your own seeds and grow your own plugs or just scatter them on the ground.
