Boston fern – what are these thread-like 'fingers' that it's growing?

Hi All –

I have what i think is a 'Boston' fern, Nephrolepis exaltata. Here's a close-up:

It is a 'rescue' and I have had some limited success in getting it going again.

It is throwing out thread-like fingers. Here's a pic of them. What you see is about eight inches long:

Those are called aerial roots and they are normal with Boston Ferns.

Thanks! That sounds promising! Is there anything I can be doing with the aerial roots to encourage propagation?

Thanks again, Chuck. I' be watching my stolons for signs of striking. Any hints as to how to encourage them?
