Hey everyone,

I’m looking for a garden storage shed kit that’s durable, weather-resistant, and easy to assemble.

I need something that can handle varying temperatures and provide enough space for garden tools, a lawnmower, and maybe a workbench.

I’d prefer something that doesn’t require a ton of maintenance. Plastic, metal, or wood—what’s the best option in your experience?

Also, any specific brands or models you’d recommend? Bonus points if it comes with a solid floor or easy foundation setup.

Looking forward to your insights

I'm not impressed with the standard of garden sheds available today.
They are usually made of timber from "sustainable resources." i.e. fast growing pine, or similar, with low density.
You could make your own with basic hand tools.

I made mine out of recycled 3" x 2" and roofing ply. Plus a couple of old wooden window frames.
The roof is strong enough for me to stand on to prune next door's trees.
It's only 8ft x 8ft, as it I actually originally built it to house our eight-year-old daughter's rabbits. But it's served as my garden shed for decades.
The end of the garage serves as its back wall.

This was it last year. It's had regular coats of paint and I changed the roofing felt fifteen years ago.

I built it in 1976.

I can get quite a lot of stuff in here. It has a full length bench on one side and a shorter one the other side. I've a "proper" bench in our garage.

It's up on brick piers, so the base has never started to rot.

If you are at all handy, you might be better off building your own?

Check facebook marketplace for materials and get crafty.

I sided my chicken coop with $1 sheets of 1/4" plywood that had been pallet tops for pallets of concrete.

around your area have you checked out the "ready" made type. its easy, they deliver it and set it in. you go and pick out the type you want. need a gravel base for it. but its easy.
