Be a to grow Watermelons in Seed form?

What is the best way to plant Watermelon Seeds? I find that making a long, thin hole of a few feet works best. How do you plant yours?

I plant them like corn ( 4 inches apart) and when they come up I thin them out as I want to. Seeds are so cheap if you buy them from the right companies that you can do this sort of thing. I do plant them about an inch deep and I make sure that I have 3-6 feet of open space and each side of that row. You may not think you need that much space, but then one day you go out there and they are six feet out in all directions.

I start them layered between moist paper towels as soon as they germinate I plant them in potting soil. I only plant a few though so this probably is not efficient for large quantities.

My best luck was planting on the slope of a drainage ditch , incredibly fertile do to the concentration of veditation debris breaking down and a strong water table .
