Oh! Well I guess it must be the horn worm as it wasn't near the ground!Was that side of the fruit touching or close to the ground? The only thing I can think of is soil rot where the soil comes in contact with the fruit and rots a hole into it. Either that or you have a whopping big horn worm lurking!!
