Fear of asymmetric objects.

Prefer symmetric, orderly arranged pattern.

Is that for real, does anyone have this phobia?

I believe a true phobia means ones life is significantly impacted, affecting day to day living.

I personally dislike asymmetry and fix it when I can, but that's not phobia and is extremely common. To label mine such would be to demean and diminish actual phobias.

When I'm at the gym and see a weight stand with one size weight on one side and a different on the other side I feel compelled to fix that. And then if there are more weights on one side vs the other I feel compelled to fix that. It's a constant internal struggle to stop myself from making all the weight stands symmetrical. Not exactly a phobia, but it can become a very distracting obsession.

Oxford dictionaries defines a phobia as "an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something." I'm not sure OCDs would qualify. :cautious:

Just reading around on their website, a few of the phobias I consider baffling:

A fear of blushing, of clouds, of colors.
A fear of comets or correspondence.
A fear of dawn, a fear of dreams, a fear of flowers.
(The fear of giving birth to monsters is teratophobia..)
A fear of ice, of ideas, of idleness.
A fear of light, a fear of lists.
A fear of magic and of mirrors.
The fear of philosophy, or places, or pleasure.
Opposite to your question, a fear of symmetry - symmetrophobia
 The fear of words - logophobia.

Fear of asymmetric objects.
I like symmetrical, strive for in many ways, asymmetric, I've learned to embrace it in nature, although I'll look for symmetry even within the asymmetric. I often work towards thinking, writing and organizing symmetrical ;) wait make that :) It has better balance  :p

I think I read somewhere that humans naturally gravitate to the symmetrical and that people with symmetrical features are considered beautiful.
