I have a nuisance tree in my backyard which I want to permanently get rid of. I was doing an online search and it mentioned copper nails being effective for killing unwanted trees. Has anyone used copper nails and what were the results?

I did cut it down but the branches from the stump keep regrowing.
Cut the stump again and immediately paint the cut with a product called Cut Vine and Stump Killer. There are numerous brand names such as Fertiloam and Monterrey plus others. Any product with triclopyr as the active ingredient will work. Copper can kill a tree in the proper circumstances but it takes a LONG time, but on a stump it doesn't. The stump killer doesn't harm the soi because it never touches the soil and it works quickly if applied to a fresh cut.
