I bought a young apricot tree last summer which was fine all summer. I planted it in a good sized pot and put it it In my in my in heated greenhouse for the winter. It has not yet got any leaves this year. The Sap is rising and a sticky dark brown sap drips from the small branches. When I rub the stem with my nail it is green. There are no imminent leaf buds. I have fed it. I don’t know if it’s dead or not. My other fruit trees planted out inthe orchard are all budding I don’t know why my apricot isn’t?

Why put it in the greenhouse when all the others are outside?
Sounds as if it's got canker, can't do much about it, it might survive or it won't. Also you don't say on your profile which country you live.

I’m in the uk . In the south. I don’t have any other apricot trees , apples, pears, cherries planted 5 years ago. Apricot tree a bit immature and small so thought I would give it a bit of TLC for a year before planting out. It is certainly not looking good !

I would have still left it outside but somewhere sheltered. We had a apricot tree and after a couple of years it had that what you explained about yours and it was covered in a gel type of sap and it was dead.
