I used to prefer a white wine with my gf and would always dump what I don’t drink in my Chereokee tomato’s and to my surprise it did dem wonders. I now don’t drink white wine only red nowadays. The question is here has anyone had success with feeding your tomato’s red wine? I’m worried it might not be good for them.

I don't have any experience in wasting my beer and wine on plants. However, I have read research papers on alcohol's effect on plants and they all say the same thing and that is that watering with alcohol at a 5% dilution stunts growth of tomato plants. 25% will kill plants. But then, if you foliar spray with the same dilutions it makes for heavier (more healthy) plants. All of the studies used both ethanol and methanol in their studies.

I mean if you buy two bottles of wine and don’t finish the product and it is very cheap so I decide why not share with my little friends. Hmm food for thought, I will try some red on my red bell hybrid tonight.
