Any recommendations for a Colorado shrub that grows big?

Well my definition of big is 2 - 4 feet. Dont mind trimming if it gets bigger than that.

Also trying to find something that does well in a large wood type of pot (front of the house). Also, plan to use a hosed watering system that drips water. Just something that does well in our Colorado climate including hail, hard rain, random high wind.

So you need to narrow down the choices. What color shrub, do you want flowers on it? what natural shape do you want. do you want it to be bird friendly. . is it in sun, or shade, what kinda shade, how much sun. oh, just re-read, you want it in a POT.
