Any ideas on these two beauties?

I have two plants in my front yard that I'm not quite sure of. I was hoping someone here could be able to tell me or at least have an idea. I've asked my mother but she had no idea either. I live in southern Georgia if that helps.

1. Rosa sp...a Rose.
2. Looks like Dianthus.
However, pics are rather small. Would like to see a good close up of the flowers.

The second one is almost certainly dianthus (sweet william). It comes in a variety of whites to reds with some variation in the shape of the flowers. My knowledge of rose varieties is limited, but the leaves and flowers are definitely a rose in the first picture.

Thanks so much to both of you! I'm going to better research the first since I'm pretty certain now it is a variety of rose. After looking at better photos online I'm certain the second is a Dianthus also! They are coming up in a couple different colors and I do enjoy them, they're in a spot where they can just take over, so it seems to work well!
