An issue with Bell Peppers

Hello all. I have some canary Bell Peppers that have been developing some sun scald spots. Now the Bell Pepper plants did catch a disease from a cherry tomato vine we had growing earlier this year, but the bell pepper fruit does not seem to have been affected other than the sun scald. To avoid further scalding I covered the plants with shade cloth but the scald is persisting and the marks have changed from a white/beige bruise to a deep dimple which is turning brown. I'm worried that it's not in fact sun scald and something else. Any thoughts?

I hope I am wrong but that sure does look anthracnose. See the orangish yellowish rings around the lesion? Also see the blackish sunken spots on the stem and limbs? There is a lot of information on this disease but not knowing where you live nor the type of weather you have been experiencing makes a definitive answer very hard. It is also possible it is bacterial spot but it looks more like anthracnose and if it is there is no cure. Also it appears you have the beginnings of a mildew problem. See that white substance on the limbs right above the pepper? But whatever it is it is not sun scald. Please take that fruit and maybe a limb to a local professional. Anthracnose is a serious problem and in some places reportable

I just learned something new this morning. I've never heard of anthracnose and because of you I'm going to look into this. I don't have any issues with my pepper plants, but it's always great to learn new stuff, thanks.
