Black currants were picked from 5 of the 6 bushes. A total of about 4.5 pounds was cleansed which will be used for fresh fruit probably milk shakes. A covered container with plastic mesh for swiping along the berry laden branch facilitates picking. Black currants make a pleasant juice but needed in my case is about ten pounds.

They look great, i use mine for jam or mixed fruit compote.

They're under-ripe there, by approx. 7-10 days in UK

The birds don't eat them here but the blueberries, yes.
