    War against Aphids

Im not sure how viable that would be, its all inside my house right now. However, next year thats not a bad idea at all, I think I'll buy some when I put the garden in. I think I know a place locally I can purchase mantises anyway, might be able to find some lady bugs.

    War against Aphids

I'll give the soapy water a shot, I've been using an insecticidal soap advertised for aphids but it appears to be rather ineffective. I believe the infestation is only a few days old, many of the aphids aren't even green yet. I believe what happened, is that the aphids had already laid eggs for...

    War against Aphids

Hello all, I've recently taken all of my pepper plants in on account of the snow starting to fall. That was 3 days ago, and now there are hundreds of aphids plaguing me. This is not at all even an uncommon occurrence, it seems I am always struggling with aphids. So, I ask you: What is the most...

Ill go out and get my hands on some spray. Not terribly concerned about the ants this year, if they get much worse next season Ill look into dealing with them. Thanks for the advice

    Paragliding/motor

The sport of paragliding, and paramotor in particular has been growing insanely fast, thanks to people like Tucker Gott. Its especially taken on in my neck of the woods, Alberta. Ive spent this summer training and most of last year raising money to get into it, wondering if anyone else has...

Gnats, worms, and ants, oh my!

Hey all, been a hell of a long time since Ive been around, been real busy. This summer I dug a garden, in addition to my usual potted plants. Its been rediculously wet, although much to my surprise most of the plants are alive - for now. The most pressing problem is the fungus gnats, theres...

    Weather

Good ol' Alberta, eh? On the upside this should be the last blast of winter before mud season starts

    Weather

Expecting a high of -9C and a low of -15C, along with up to 4cm of snow today, and I gotta tear down a barn. Should be fun.

    Weather

Here in the frozen arctic wasteland known by some as, "Canada", we're emerging from deceptive spring into Crows winter. After that, we have the season of mud, and then finally a brief spring.

    Dying sedum

Reasonably sure, the leaves coming in look a lot like several species of sedum, and I distinctly remember buying a sedum at some point in time. I doubt it'd survive the -40 winters we get out here or it'd be outside

    Dying sedum

Hey all, Ive had this plant for a year and 2 days now, and all of the sudden a number of branches (vines?) Began dying from the base up and just falling off. Im rather quite fond of this plant so i would really appreciate any advice you could give me. Ive been putting the fallen stems into...
