    Our old farm fencing is lotus wood, that stuff is tough. A few places it has fallen down, snow load with honeysuckle, now just have a honeysuckle fence, well mixed with poison ivy.

    We also planted beans and peas along with the corn kernels, old farmers say those plants put good nitrogen back into the soil for the corn. They also use the corn to grow up on. Just hope we get some rain this summer so it does not all die again.

    When we bought this house, neither of us could recall what the house looked like. But we could tell you in detail what the land looked like. Houses can be tweaked, lousy land can't. Love our slopes, just had to tweak to make it easier to work on , i.e. mowing etc. All the hard to mow slopes...

    I cut at 3.5 inches the field and the main yard. The field I have been cutting just once every other time. Cut it yesterday and left all the buttercups growing lol, patches of high grass and flowers all over the field.
