These are pictures of Glen Wyllin which is a short walk from my home. The first picture is of the disused (steam) railway track that we use for foot access to the Glen and a few of the wild flowers on the way.

I've taken the next four pictures from the track on the way down into the glen.

This is a small trout farm

Glen Wyllin also serves as a camping site during the summer months.

One of the two stone struts that supported the bridge and track above the glen.

Beautiful pictures - one better than the other. What are those yellow clusters?

Beautiful views! (y) I love seeing big old gorse bushes, you don't see any where I live.

Not a pretty beach. The rocks are there to help stop coastal erosion as the cliffs are mainly sand and are disappearing at the rate of 6ft a year.

I took this hazy picture from the beach. The remains of Peel Castle five miles away.

Thanks for the tour Sheal. I've just googled Glen Wyllin as I hadn't heard of it. Really interesting. Amazing bridge and lovely wild flowers. What a lovely surprise. I love this forum. Here I am tucked away in Australia and I get to travel by proxy.

Yes, I confirm it's gorse and it runs riot all over the island. You may be able to see the thorns in the picture, they are lethal and falling into a gorse bush is probably one of the most painful experiences anyone could have.

Thank you everyone. :) Deborahjane, there are more than 120 glens on the island and Glen Wyllin is one of the seventeen that is recognised as a National Glen.

What a beautiful area to see and it is nice that it is close to you too! My favorite to visit is about 30 minutes drive away from me!

Thank you IcyBC, will we be seeing pictures of your favourite place to? :)

Not sure if I will be making a trip there yet! But if I do, I will keep this in mind and take plenty of pictures from the outside in :)
