Our ficus is more than 15 years old now but you can see in the photo that the size is ably managed by continual pruning. I hope @Pablo can see this thread so he will have an idea for his mango tree that he plans to keep indoors. The proper pruning is cutting off the twigs and branches that are over the desired height. But the pruning need not be one time because some trees are delicate when it comes to pruning, it should be gradual.

Thanks for showing me this. So you recommend just cutting of the branches that get to big and doing it one at a time so I don't kill it?
