What's up everybody, I am new to the forum, just wanted to share this. Basically I ordered some Ginkgo Biloba seeds from aliexpress.com and this is what I have after a month.. I have done all kinds of researches but I haven't found any variety of Ginkgo looking like this one.. Can anyone help me understand if what I have is a Ginkgo or something else? Ps. The seeds in the package looked quiet smaller than usual..
Thank you in advance

Could be that they were just wind blown seeds. Did you stratify the Ginko seed? :)

Thank you for helping me! :) And no i didn't stratificate :( could this mean i am getting something else instead of a Ginkgo tree? And I wanted to show you how odd this other seedling is, bottom leaf is actually what a Ginkgo leaf should look like

My pleasure.

Yep, pretty sure the compost has got contaminated with other seeds.

I have tried to grow this before, but mine always ended up dead, so I gave up! I don't think my climate is suitable to grow ginkgo, unless I just have real bad luck with it. I know my brother who lives in California doing well growing ginkgo though.

The weeds in the pot do look like some type of weedy Chicory relative (Cichorieae, Asteraceae), but better images, as well as flowers and fruit are needed for full identification. In any case, I'm sorry to say there are no seedlings of the Maidenhair Tree (Ginkgo biloba) to be seen.

Note: This in one of two nearly identical threads.
