Liz has been home and repotted for about four days. She's had a couple thunder storms under her belt and seems very happy. I'm about to prune her up a bit, but curious. Some of my lemons budding are hard, brown, and kind of mottled with the normal green hue. Do I leave them or prune them?

It's been decades since I lived anywhere I could grow citrus, but my instinct would be to prune them off. Is Liz producing any blossoms?

I have never grown lemons so I hope someone can help you out with this. For me, I would leave them just so to see what would become of them. To see fruit tree like this is always a delightful thing for me to prune :)

I didn't think I was in a lemon zone either until I found Liz shoved into a back corner at a local nursery. dwarf Lisbon lemons are allegedly very cold, heat, and wind hardy. Below 27 degrees you wheel them inside and allegedly the produce year round. Indoor outdoor. Despite repotting Liz is still spitting out big fragrant white flowers, that are supposed to become lemons in 90 days. First time with a lemon, second time with a fruit tree. Hoping for more success with Liz than my peach tree :)

Sounds good! I've got a small kaffir lime plant which I'm growing inside (in a sunny spot) but it'll be a while before I can expect fruit. Perhaps if it goes well then I'll give a lemon tree a try :)
