Poison ivy has leaves in 3's.
"Leaves in 3... leave it be"

The pic above shows a plant with a stem and 3 leaflets of 3 leaves per stem...ie it is not Poison ivy.

Do read all this excellent link with clear pics etc.

http://grandpacliff.com/Plants/PoisonIvy.htm

Nor is it Hibiscus.

Compare leaflets and leaves to Aegopodium podagraria...a very invasive weed ..common name Ground elder...or something very similar!

The plant is in a friend's garden in Luton, Bedfordshire, UK. Ground elder sounds like a likely suspect!

It will soon have the flowers.

Pretty...BUT a very invasive plant.
Suggest Round up weed killer. Glyphosate.
Follow instructions.
Dilute as instructed...never be tempted to make a strong dose!
WAIT.
It is not instant.
It works by the plant taking in the chemical.... right down to the root.
Then it dies...permanently.

I have ground elder and it is not invasive here. It does spread but is easily pulled when it gets somewhere I don't want it. I wouldn't jump and pull it or poison it just yet. Just because something is aggressive in one area doesn't mean it will be aggressive in another.

Yes, looks like poison ivy to me. 3 leaves and shiny, dead give away to me. I try to teach my son about them, but him being Autistic, it's very hard.

Maybe it is a new type of plant that has poison Ivy properties, because I don't know but those leaves look pretty oily to me, I am highly allergic to Poison oak and Ivy, so just looking at it makes me itch.
